Chantel and Daddy Hang Out before Bed

Ralph and Chantel love being silly together. Here is one of those moments before Chantel went to bed tonight. She sat against her 2 foof pillows in her reading corner with Daddy. She loves hanging out with him.

Ralph sits on the pillows as he reads to her every night. Tonight, he just finished reading Stuart Little to her. She loves to listen to books before bed and do puzzles with Mommy. See the puzzle we just completed as well.

Ralph and Chantel can be so silly together. Hope you enjoy their special moment together, as much as I did.

We're All Enjoying a Snow Day- Fri., Feb. 22nd, 2008

Chantel and Ralph had fun playing in the snow. I walked around with them for a while and threw a snowball or two. It really wasn't snow to make a snowball or a snowman. It was fun to walk through. It was nice and powdery.
Ralph and Chantel enjoyed some time together after he got home from his 1 and 3/4 hour drive to and from work. Normally it's 25 min. and now it took an hour to arrive and 3/4 of an hour back home. Glad I shopped last night, now we don't have to go anywhere today, just stay home and play together.
We ended play time with some nice hot cocoa. That's the best part! Aah! Hope you like the photos. Here is one of Chantel pulling the sled, she also wrapped and pulled a dolly on it too.
Hope you can enjoy some snow, too.

Chef Chantel?

Eggs anyone? Chantel at age 5 yrs. and 2 months is making our Fluffy Scrambled Egg Breakfast. She cracked the eggs. Ralph measured and she poured the milk. She whisked it all together with her whisk from Aunt Judy. Notice the cute little apron, too. Ralph cut and she added the cheese.
Then, with her stool, she was able to hold the pan handle while she stirred the eggs. She loves to help in the kitchen. She's already talking about making things for others. I wonder where she gets her ideas? :-)

Here Comes the Bride?

Chantel loves to play dress up. Today she dressed up as a princess with high heeled purple shoes. Next, she dressed up as a bride. She practiced walking up and down the stairs and humming to the music. Finally, she's dressing up as a doctor with her kit. She wants the microscope now, so I won't have long to write.
Hope you enjoy the photo. I picked this close up because it shows her gorgeous blue eyes. I love them!

Dr. Chantel to the rescue

The Dr. is in. Chantel was a doctor for a fall dress up with family and friends/Halloween. It's actually the same day we celebrated my dad's birthday.

This picture came back again in January when Ralph's mom was in the hospital with pneumonia. It said that Dr. Chantel wants you to get better. So, she really enjoyed showing off her granddaughter in the hospital.

I love to Ride My Scooter

Chantel is enjoying the over 40 degree weather today. She was out for almost an hour riding her scooter. It was fun to watch her. I was scraping up the last of the ice, so that she could ride safely and we could walk safely. I love the quick melting of ice for us this winter; it's been great.

Chantel also learned another new skill today. She poured milk from a 1/2 gallon milk jug with a pour spout into her sippy cup and added the chocolate, Nesquick, after I came downstairs. She poured safely while I was upstairs.

We had a pretty good day off together today. She's been at the babysitter's for 9 days, and now we get a break together. Ralph will be home with us on Monday. Hope you all have a wonderful President's Day weekend.

See Me Write

Here's a note to my babysitter, Rhoda, for Valentine's Day! It's the second note I've ever written. The first one was a Thank You card. Now, I'm writing letters like Mommy. Daddy says, "Oh, no!"
I wrote most of the letters while watching Mommy write them on another piece of paper, then copying them down for myself. Also, I traced some as dotted lines, like the letter C in my name, it is so difficult. Mommy and Daddy are so proud of me. I really enjoy writing now.

Chef Chantel makes Valentine's Day Cupcakes

Hope you like my chef look. I wanted to pose for the camera again. Here's my Hannah Montana t-shirt I got for an early V-day gift and my apron I received from Aunt Judy for Christmas! I'm helping Mommy make cupcakes for Grandma and Grandpa, Grammy and PopPop and for us.
They look delicious, don't they. from Chantel

Look at me trimming my own toe nails

Here is Chantel's wonderful talent. She has great eye-hand coordination. Trimming her own finger and toe nails is something she can do pretty well. She's been doing it for about the past year, if I remember correctly. She finally has stopped fighting us, since she can do it herself. She her doing it right after her bath tonight.

The Crop walk

This fall in October, Ralph and Chantel (4 yrs. old at the time), and I walked about 6 miles together in the town of Souderton. It is called the CROP walk; Chantel walked it with us and didn't really give us trouble to complete it. Even though we passed several playgrounds. It took us about 2 hours and 40 min. It was a great family bonding experience as well as a teachable moment for Chantel to understand the importance of doing things for others. As we walked, we asked her why she was walking. She told us it was for people who needed food. She really got it. Although she wanted to meet the people at the walk and she also wondered why people didn't stop at the crop sign. :-)

Chantel's Hair cut

Dear friends,

On January 21st, at age 5, Chantel thought it would be a great idea to cut her hair. Mommy didn't think so. Mommy cried really hard and tried not to yell. It was a tough day. My mom was in the hospital and not doing very well.

Earlier that day and later that night we were told that my mom was not going to make it. Well, God had other plans; Praise the Lord! She did improve each day and finally about a week later, she arrived home. She is still in need of additional oxygen for breathing, but it has been exciting to see the way God has been at work.

Thanks for your thoughts and prayers, for those who I've already told. Hope you enjoy the photo of the infamous hair cut. At least she won't do it again when she is older, like I did.

Welcome to Our Life

Welcome Friends,

Just a note from a mom of a 5 year old, who tries to live a balanced life, while taking care of her daughter, husband and family. I'm an only child. So I feel currently like I'm sandwiched between a lot of people.

Thanks for listening to my introduction and background. Oh, I attend Souderton Mennonite Church and my goal is to live my life as a Christian so others will notice something different in my life and want it too. It's not as easy as it sounds.

Keep on reading more and responding when you have the chance.
